we love us some Hague's

we love love love Julie and Andy they are such great people and Julie is the sweetest woman ever! This Christmas they hosted an ugly sweater party and we also exchanged cookies and did a white elephant gift exchange :) now first and for most Jordan and I didn't mean to be party crashers but we were the ONLY ones who didn't wear an ugly sweater. I could say that a really good reason that we did not was because we ran out of time to look for one or rather I did, Jordan's been working a whole lot. But even though that is the truth I still feel really bad :( we were so sad to not participate because we know we WOULD HAVE WON that contest! LOL no really we just love to party and have fun and look goofy but on that note we at least got to visit with some pretty awesome friends.

these are the Hague's and we love them and they are so sweet and have the sweetest little boy Brayden and we are so glad they decided to have this party. MUAH Hagues!

Jordan and I won a picture of a guy playing the saxophone AND a glass unicorn figurine :)
Maria won the uglies sweater and also got some cool gifts...Julie...way cool idea with the road sign!
us sticking out like sore thumbs WITH NO sweater :( LOL we're party poopers!
the Herrings....they are just so cute and funny and we love them and their cute family

and this is our most recent picture of Faye...Christmas morning :)

For Christmas we got Faye two things...an ornament (her first) and scripture scout CD's :) (thanks to Kat who introduced them to us (smile)) we figure she has so many toys already and her grandparents and family and friends that spoil her rotten that we would be modest oh and the fact that she really doesn't get it anyways (grin). My super great friend Juanita had a great idea of 3 gifts each Christmas for all the kids (well each kid gets 3 things)...I think it's a great idea. There is more that goes with why you do 3 which I won't go into now but I think it's a great idea and we may adopt it in the future. We also want to start the a new tradition next year since we now have Faye, that the present that everyone opens on Christmas eve will be PJ's, sometimes they will match sometimes they won't, which will be the surprise part. But it will be great fun for pictures I think? (cheese?).

We made Christmas breakfast again this year and it was so fun. Well Jordan did almost all of the cooking, and he is amazing! This year on the menu was : two homemade quiche's, from scratch waffles, eggs. bacon, homemade oj, and banana's. it was yummy!

We wish you all the happiest of holidays and a very happy new year!

love you!

WHO WE ARE as individuals

This time of year always has me thinking, when I take the time to stop and reflect on the past year, myself, and what our family is and why families are so important. Which then led me to think of a past FHE Jordan and I started when we were first married, we decided to write our own "family mission statement" and/or our own "Proclamation to the World." It has been on my/our mind a lot lately and so we are deciding to finish it :)

It will feel good to finally have this in writing and hung on our wall, but most of all I wanted to bring this idea to all of you out there because I think it's an awesome activity to do as a couple and then later on tweak it with your children. I know I will just love as the goals of our family change or just lengthen and to see what each person brings and how time changes people and ideas. To see not just what we hope for our family but what we expect from each other.

Merry Christmas and I wish you all the happiest new year!

My Sweet Daughter and Husband

I love Jordan and Faye I do not know what I would do without them. Nothing is very new around our neck of the woods. It just got cold today and still no snow :( SHOCKER...oh to live in Florida :)
Thanksgiving Day 2010
We moved back in with Jordan's family so that I can stay home and stay dept free, not sure how long that will be we shall see but we are so grateful to them. They are the sweetest people ever and I just love them and love the son they created (heehee).

I like taking Faye with me anywhere I go and at church I love having Jordan there to help but when I go to YW I want to bring her with me LOL so sometimes I do if I feel she will be a quite little munchkin. I like to lay on the floor with her under the play gym and play with her.

Jordan is finishing up his toughest semester yet with a bang, I am so proud of him and all he is accomplishing. He works, takes classes, and comes home and is very loving husband and dad to us here...I always tell him he doesn't have to help me when he is home but he always insists on it and he loves it. He is a huge blessing and I am a very lucky gal. His recent Faye accomplishments are that earlier this month he got Faye to laugh for him (first one to do so) by jiggling her...I got her to laugh for me last week but kissing her neck obnoxiously (smile) but I love when her firsts are with him. He has daddy daughter days already and lets me do my thing all the time or when he has free time and I think that is cute stuff. I love that when he is gone before she is up and comes home when she is in bed that he sneaks in there and picks her up and rocks with her for 10min or more I also Love that she doesn't wake up LOL. I think that is all about the updates I have for Jordan.

Me...well nothing much just same ol' same ol'. Out visiting friends when I am not here organizing and cleaning and visiting in between Faye's naps. I am caught up on her journal that I was neglecting and I am done Christmas shopping.

Faye laughing
Faye just chilling out
Faye's home away from home
Faye is 4 months old as of yesterday and just swell. She is 25 in. long and weighs 12.7oz (tiny little Faye). I get a complex about it often however the doctors have all assured me she is healthy healthy healthy so that smooths over a little the part of me that feels that she just isn't gaining weight ya know. anywho she is in the 75% for her height and 28th for her weight...head is in the 68th percentile...lol...I think she takes after her dad on that one (heehee). Her accomplishments up to now is that she rolls over and is scoots around...she plays in her saucer, and bounces in the johnny jump up, she grabs moving objects, laughs, smiles non stop, loves hanging out in the kitchen in her bumbo seat while I or anyone is around, liking car rides way more, seems or appears to really like the children's song book on cd, watching RaFfI with her dad, she knows when I leave a room, knows when she is going to be fed and where to go (blush), she still sleeps through the night and her naps are like clock work...every 1.5 hours if not we get a grouchy little faye, I think her favorite kind of toy are the ones you either pull that play music or the ones you pull and they vibrate...keeps her amused during floor or car time, loves to sit in my lap, likes to swing on the swing in grandma's backyard, watching water do it's thing, and a few weeks ago she discovered her feet and so that put rolling around on hold LOL she was or is obsessed with those toes so it helps because I can walk away again because for a little while she would roll and get frustrated when she would get stuck and she would forget how to get back to her back...I guess I should stop LOL I could go on forever. But anywho I think the newest thing is that she picks up toys with both hands and places them down in other places. I think that is the newest thing...

MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE!

Thanksgiving Daily

This season I am of course greatful for the Gospel, Jordan, Faye, and my family and friends...however a few extra things I would like to add on this list would be for the kindess of strangers, the little things, the friends I have yet to meet, memories, rainy days, free festivals and events, seeing wildlife, oceans, rivers, lakes, hot showers, accomplishing a goal, laughing when the going gets tough, being debt free, good health, being an American, the seasons, sunshine, back yards, hot showers, for never really being sick, and books.

YaY Faye is almost 14 weeks holy heck!

WE LOVE FAYE AND WE LOVE BEING PARENTS!

so Faye is just wonderful and the happiest, most content, peaceful baby ever :) she smiles and giggles and we just love the way she is bashful now. I am going to put up new pics of her in her costume later on in this blog but just don't have the desire to get up and hook up the camara right now :) lol...been busy unpacking and playing with Faye. Anywho some small updates on my little chunk a munk minus the chunk is that she is about 11.5 lbs or so now and 23ish inches or so. I just packed away her NB pants today they actually still fit her but I think it's time :)

She is napping great (I just wish she would take the paci so I could put her down awake and not already passed out...), but they are not for as long now as they were...duh...only about 3 to 5 hours. I am so thankful that she is like clockwork she makes being a mom so so so easy. without a shadow of a doubt every hour to hour and a half she HAS to take some kind of nap whether that be 30 min or 2 hours and so it makes it so easy to put her down. and man oh man same with the night...she has a bed time of 7-8pm and wakes up anywhere from 9.5hrs to 12 hours later since she was 5 weeks. if she sleeps one night for 9hours she feeds and goes back down for the remainder 3 or 4 hours. Only two nights has she woken up in the middle of the night and that would be mommy and daddy's fault because she came out of her swaddle. I am so grateful, not for the long nights sleep (yes I am happy for that) however I am more greatful I never really had to deal with her crying. She sort of, after a few times, just got the self soothe thing down at night (probably the swaddle and I should probably do it during the day but I like being consistent and this is how it's been done since about week 3). during the day is different because I don't swaddle her during the day she either goes down on her back or belly depending...however she does not know how to self soothe that way yet and she doesn't take the paci all the time so she either is rocked or bounced or swung to sleep :) either way when any of those things are done she is usually out in a few min., more often than not LOL.

she likes to use her legs to stand and it's wicked cute. she doesn't quite get peek a boo yet but we're working on it. She now knows that you stop playing with her or leave because she will fus when you stop or leave and when you come back or start playing with her again she is happy.

Bibs are her new PaCi she just sucks on them until they are soaked...and she likes to snuggle with a blanket now too anddddddddddd sometimes she'll pick up her toys and suck on them :)

she loves mornings she is just so happy...I have to say I think it's because she gets so much sleep :)

She still likes to snuggle on my shoulder and hug me and suck on my shirt :)

She just started enjoying mirrors!

she loves to talk to anyone and everyone that will talk to her, there are a few toys that play music that she will coo (sing) along with...it's so cute she'll be silent as a button and then she'll pull the toy and it will play music and she'll just start cooing and cooing right along with it. She sits in the bumbo seat like a champ now...cooking with and cleaning with her mom. She loves to play without her diaper on now and I kind of feel she gets upset a little when I put the diaper on but that could just be my mind playing tricks on me.

She still doesn't like car rides at all, at all, at all, at all. oh well though she is so happy and nothing else bothers her that I just can't complain.

She loves bath time but who doesn't.

she just started to enjoy belly time a few weeks ago and lifts her self up so well...well I will take a pic and post soon.

she loves being on her back as well playing and grabbing all types of toys...she has been so good since we've moved in with grandma and grandpa.
I LOVE HER we LOVE HER she is just so fun and growing up so fast and I am sad to see her grow because I miss her being so small however I am at the same time so excited to see her grow...it feels good to have her in my life and Jordan and I are just so happy with all the changes she has brought.

one wish would be for her to get some major CHUNKS on her little body...we shall see!

tHiS mOmMy GiG is the most important role in life as a parent.

Faye is 10.8 lbs and 23 in. long as of today :)
I cannot wait to grow and learn with my children and as a wife. Parenting truly is such a blessing and among many things that I feel from having Faye and Jordan is that listening to them is one of the most important things in our relationships. I do not need to go on about listening to Jordan (smile) that isn't interesting right?! But listening to Faye is a new thing for me, learning her needs and wants and what she loves.
I have learned so much from watching Faye sleep, from her talking (cooing), and from the small and simple things like snuggling: what do I learn from her, well I learn when she is or may not be in pain, what makes her happy, what interests her, what does not interest her, when she is tired, and many other things. I am grateful for all I have in my life, for instincts that help me to help Faye, for the church which teaches me how to be a great mother, for my own mother who taught me the hows and whats of motherhood through watching her, for sisterhood which tought me how much someone who isn't Faye's parents can love, for the love of people who extend their hand when we are in need, and so so much more.
Jordan and I both pray often for patience and an understanding when it comes to Faye because right now that is the most important thing because Faye can't just tell us what she wants in words, she shows us. When the day comes that she can tell us and talk to us we want to be there for her and be the kind of parents that are in the links below.
Being a mom is hard work, it is not easy to give up what I want to do for Faye's sake sometimes (like running (winkwink). The challenge is worth it. The time is worth it. But I also know that it is only worth it if I do it right. If I only try to be a mom half way, it would be a waste of effort and time.
Cheers to motherhood and to you moms and dads out there that take the time to sit and hang out with your children. Precious moments.

Jordan and I just love this video:

our little ms. magic

Were to begin...I don't want to write to much as I know my last was super long however Faye is now almost 9 weeks old and just sweet as can be. Updates since my last blog, hmmmm a few are listed below (smile)

  • since she was 4 weeks she has been able to hold her head on her own...even uses the bumbo well has a few times
  • since she was 4.5 weeks old she has been taking her daily naps on her belly
  • she recently has rolled on her side 5 times on her own
  • she talks to you when you talk to her
  • she makes eye contact and loves bright colors
  • her 9am nap is done or well I put her to sleep by dancing to either Frank Sinatra or Jimmy Buffett or the Beatles. if she stays down for a good nap it's 4-5 hours long. I don't have her afternoon nap down because people are usually over or we are out...so we shall see what happens there.
  • for three weeks she has been sleeping through the nights 100%...not one day has she woken up...we're on a streak! she goes down between 830 and 10pm and is up by 7-830am depending. I must say that I don't know what I'll do with our next because I really feel Faye did this all on her own. I do a few things consistently (I do not do baby wise or baby whisper...I know they work they just weren't my thing) but I really just think she did it on her own.
  • The newest thing is that she can put herself to sleep when I put her down awake at night. I haven't put her down awake for her daily naps because she goes down 95% of the time on her belly however her newest thing learned is that she can wake up during a nap and put herself back to sleep (that was soooooooooooo awesome to watch)...it's been 3 days of that...way cool.
  • she LOVES LOVES LOVES being outside. If she is fussy...go outside...if she is tired...go outside either way she stops fussing and falls asleep...love easy fixes
  • she HATES HATES HATES going on car rides since day one and up till today. Not sure when that will end, people that I know that have had babies that hate the car seat ensure that "this shall pass" Oh I just can't wait for that day let me tell you!
  • she smiles the most in the morning but I have loved watching her smile more and more as the days pass
  • she can take the bottle (nice for when I need to go out and do things and wish not to bring her and more importantly Jordan gets to feed her which is to cute to watch) and also takes formula once a day
  • she has had three really bad spit ups...those scare me a lot...other than that she just drools so I am glad she isn't a pukey baby. could still become one I suppose but for right now it's nice.
  • she can't decide if she likes the PACI but we still try sometimes because it's really nice when she's tired and can't figure it out.
  • she loves to cuddle
  • she now likes bright colors and will stare at them for many many minutes
  • she loves her bath but HATES the before and after time when she is naked...can't take one nice picture of her because she just crys when she is naked (well 70% of the time it's getting better)
  • she poops a lot like her parents LOL
  • she hates being on her belly awake, so play time is normally on her back.
  • she loves the leg exercises we do...her fave is the butterfly kick and the snowboard and I think she really likes the get jiggy with it one...hmmm maybe she just likes them all and those are the ones that her mom likes to do because they are the silliest LOL
  • she likes the sing and bouncy seat sometimes
  • doesn't like laying on the boppy
  • likes to be bounced in your arms up and down up and down...my arms sometimes feel like they will fall off but i know that is impossible so I just keep dong it LOL
  • she likes it when her dad sings bob marley to her (awesome)
  • is gasey but doesn't cry about it which is weird
  • LOOKS LIKE HER DAD hee hee
  • likes to poo our of her diapers
  • doesn't fit in any size diaper right now they are either to small or to big which is probably why she poops out of them LOL
  • has blonde hair sometimes and strawberry blonde the other times
  • she hasn't decided if she likes walks in the stroller yet...
  • likes to lie on or in her changing table...not sure why but it is what it is
  • she is predictable...when she crys she is pretty much tired or hungry
  • still sleeps in her bassinet
  • she loves to sleep
  • she stairs about our picture of Christ a lot, I like to think she remembers him.
AND SHE IS LOVED

This was Faye's first trip to the zoo
Above is Faye sleeping...taken tonight...after she kicked the blanket off I was to scared to move it in fear of waking her up so I just added one more to put over her...now she is cozey and sleeping in her bassinet

Like father like daughter...this was taken this past Sunday...to cute for words. She also tries to grab that thing in the back to the left of her against the couch...it has bright colors and the new things this week si that she is opening and closing her hands on command, i love her so much.

Aunt Bridge and Faye dancing to I think it was Frank Sinatra...she just loves Faye and takes the cutest pictures with her I just love it and I love them and gosh Faye and I are so lucky to have her.

Saturday, September 4

Faye is officially 5 weeks! YIPPIE! 9lb and 4oz and now 22in long!

So little miss Sarah Faye Glancy is officially 5 weeks today! akkkkkkkkkkkk how time fly's. So rewind right? When we first got home from the hospital it was great (hmmm it sounds like by the way I wrote that that it isn't now right? LOL nope still great) but it was great because Jordan took a week off of work to spend his loving'ness with us (smile). So that first week was great! other than my cry fests and I am convinced it wasn't anything other than my pure love for Faye...no it was bit baby blues or postpartum...I just kept thinking of how my little girl was growing already and how I just wanted her to stay 1 day old forever and never leave me and never hurt. I also cried because I was thinking of how someday it would just be Jordan and I again and all our kids would be gone, also how someday she wouldn't just want me to hold and hold her and how someday I couldn't just sit and stare at her for hours without being a weirdo and how I didn't want to loose that. LOL...anyways the more she has changed the more I love it. I know that with every great thing that is left behind you gain a new great thing with the new stage/age to love and adore. I just want to have it all I guess, I want one child of every age...up until they leave I suppose. Well so that is that update regarding me and the first week and my tears.

Life is BLISS. Faye is bliss (smile) and she is amazing and such an awesome little girl already. She has her melt downs like everyone but that is when mommy or daddy is being mean and hasn't fed her or she is over tired...tech it could be gas but if we feed her she stops 100% of the time so I don't know I am just going with the flow I suppose. So life the past 5 weeks. hmmmmmmmmmmmmm so Faye is amazing...it's funny how you get to know your child as she is in your womb vs. how she is outside of the womb right? Faye moved 24/7 when she was inside of me, I mean 24/7, Reese told me once that she probably moves in her sleep and I thought gosh what a concept you are totally right! I really thought (call it the blond in me) she never slept. LOL. Well she slept when I did because was able to sleep for most of my pregnancy just fine, even up until her date of birth. So Faye 'now' still moves and figits all the time, awake and asleep, which is probably super normal but it's still something to let you guys know about. She also had hiccups ALL THE TIME WHILE IN MY BELLY and hahaha SHE STILL DOES. Bobbye brought over this stuff called gripe water which makes your hiccups go away and IT TOTTALLY DOES! lol I never would have something could cure hiccups especially something made out of herbs. So anywho I don't use it all the time, we've used it like hmmmm well I don't know we use it seldom because when she gets the hiccups it usually occupies her awake time for longer periods of time vs. non hiccup awake time...not sure why that is but it works for me. (smile). The thing that has stressed me out the most was during wk 2 and 3 were the color of her poops. There were a few times where it was green and that just freaked us out so thoughts like is she getting enough milk, is there something wrong with my milk, is she getting for milk?...the list could go on. So I did a few tests : tried formula for a day and pumping and stuff like that but always the same outcome so that was a relief to know that it wasn't really me maybe just some kind of poop phase she was going through which it ended up being...relief of Faye is that she is a way good pooper which I know has to feel good.(smile)...yah!! One of Faye's coolest gifts is that she hasn't ever been awake at night. She has woken up for a change and feeding and gone right back to sleep. So because of this every night STILL I get worried that "is this going to be the night where she keeps me up or that she wakes up and won't go back to sleep" :) we shall see I am sure there will be one, I would think it impossible that there should not be right? Faye also does great with the bottle which is great because that enables Jordan the opportunity to feed her (which is my favorite thing in the world) and he loves it as well...and it allows me to get out and do errands and workout (yes I have been running since the day before week 3 and it feels super great, Florida weather is the best and oddly the mornings lately have been super cool, ok back to Faye). She also will take the binky...we started her on that around week 3 and 4 when she was having more awake time and seemed to still root even though she wasn't eating as much or what not. Speaking of latching my little Faye latched at first try, HUGE relief to me as that was my #1 worry going into this whole motherhood life-o-roo. We've gone for a few walks and a few runs...she doesn't last long sometimes but that is ok it's a work in progress. As of the 27th she holds up her head with no wobble...it is and was the weirdest thing ever. It was like one day her head wobbled and the next it didn't...craziness really. She makes the cutest noises ever. The newest one is that when she is about to sneeze and doesn't LOL and then it slowly tapers off into a girly sigh kind of noise. I need to catch it on video and post it on here but not sure how to do that but I am going to still try. She still sleeps for 18-20hours a day (3-7 hours at a time) and feedings are longer as well which is helpful because I don't have to work at keeping her awake anymore (and I never had the heart to get her naked to keep her awake, didn't seem nice to do so I couldn't do it (tear)). She still wears new born clothes and she is now 20 inches and 8.5 lbs. She HATES being naked so that means she hates 90% of her diaper changes and 100% of prebath and post bath time BUT loves bath time. She smiled for the first time on the September 2nd for her Grandma Kitty :) tried to get a picture of it BUT I'm just not that quick. GR very aggravating. I give her one bottle of formula a day, gives me relief that a) she'll take it and b) to know how much she is exactly getting. Her favorite spot is my shoulder and often times we clean together and she falls asleep there. She falls asleep anywhere no matter how loud or quite it is (thank gosh!, Jordan has done great with helping me with that and I thank him for that). She loves the Beatles, Frank Sinatra, and Jimmy Buffett...lol...well not really that is just what we listen to during the day but I like to think she loves them already. We have a bear that is in the bassinet with her that plays the sounds of the womb so that is what she listens to right now and eventually we plan on using something like classical music or white noise...just need to decide which we want to use. More and more people think she has strawberry blond hair...but I say it depends on the lighting (smile) I personally think it would be way cool for her to have strawberry blond hair. We were surprised she even had hair becuase both of us have super fine/thin hair. And even better is that it hasn't fallen out yet and no random balled spots yet.

HER DADDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD is the greatest thing to happen to her life since well she was in Heaven I suppose. I didn't change once diaper for the first week of her life and haven't really changed any evening diapers either when he is home he gets up in the middle of the night and changes them for me and brings her to me to feed :) He is so great with everything and helps me with so many great ideas of how to do this or how to do that it's just such a blessing I can't stand it. He was amazing during the whole birth process as well. He was there for me in such a perfect way and it warms my heart to no end that I have him in my life for eternity. To watch him with his little girl and see him grow and love her and cry for her just warms my heart and I can only home to be the kind of parent he already is. Recently, the 28th, Faye and Jordan were lying on the bed together and Jordan was looking at her lying on his side and Faye on her back wide eyed looking at him just hanging out...As I watch this from start to finish...Jordan was the first to fall asleep then I was like great he's asleep and she isn't LOL and I was all kinds of ready as I was sure she'd start not wanting to be there anymore out of boredom, wouldn't have believed it if I hadn't seen it myself, but Faye went from being really awake to really asleep! LOL so a week ago was the first time she fell asleep on her own (no help of any kind at all). It was the GREATEST thing yet to see them be this way together. Jordan is the best husband and gosh I just can't say it enough of how great he was for me at the hospital and how great he has been for Faye...we're a good pair if I should say so myself...nice and opposite but where it counts. He just loves her so much and I just love that.

here are just some random pics...I know I need to post others but I just haven't had time to get on to Jordan's PC to upload them...so I will try to super soon. xoxo

Friday, August 6

She's a Girl! 19 inches and 7.5lbs!

So baby Faye is six days old and she's already throwing Mom and Dad for a loop! Sarah woke me up Saturday morning (July 31, 2010) after she had been having contractions for a little while. We timed them for about 3 hours and decided it was time to go to the hospital around 4am. Once we got to the hospital, they checked Sarah and she was 3cm dialated but they said she was kind of on the line that the draw between admission into the hospital and sending you back home. Sweet sweet Sarah was so nice that whenever she had a contraction, she'd apologize to the nurses because "It was a bad one". They looked at her like she had two heads. Needless to say, the nurses really came to like her quite a bit and fought for her to get admitted.

They had Sarah and I walk the halls to try and progress things so they could admit her. After a half hour of walking, they came back in and she had only dilated half a centimeter more or so. The nurses had come to like Sarah so much, they just admitted her anyway around 5:30 am.

During this whole process, a nurse here and there would ask us "Do you know what you're having?" We'd answer "A boy!" Then the conversation would go something like this:
Nurses: "Great/Awesome/How precious! Who's your doctor?"
We: "Dr. Cazes"
Nurses: "Don't hold your breath on the sex, then!"
We:

I guess Dr. Cazes is playfully known at the Hospital to mess up the sex the most of all the Doctors at the hospital. I guess Sarah knew for a while that "Liam" was really "Faye" because she would always refer to "him" as "her" and even confessed this little hunch to the nurses when we first arrived.

So after we were admitted at around 5:30 AM, Sarah received an epidural. A side-note to all those who will ever have children...GET-AN-EPIDURAL. To the husbands: Plead with your wife to get an epidu
ral. Beg her. Offer her a thousand-coupon book of honey-do's! Do anything you must, but get that epidural! Wives: If you want to be in pain for 1 minute out of every 3 for 12-18 straight hours, that's your prerogative. But if you want to sit and visit with your families and watch those contractions spike on the monitor pain-free, get-the-epidural!

In all seriousness - Do some research yourself before you make
the decision to "go natural" or not (http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/20499499, http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/20409118, http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/20232698 are just a few suggestions. Seriously, search it out!)

So Sarah continued her labor for the next 10-11 hours or so in peace. No heavy panting, no immense pains...just calm, easy-going labor. Her family came to visit us a couple of hours before the delivery. That was nice. When it got close to 5:30 pm, they made their way down to the lobby to way for the big moment. We got ready for the long haul in the delivery room. They say that the average time spent pushing for a first-time delivery is around two hours. Sarah pushed like a mother and got-her-dun in 30 minutes! My wife's a machine!

Before we started pushing, I jokingly said to Dr. Cazes, "You know...If he doesn't come out a boy, I'm going to personally hold you responsible!" He chuckled and said "We were pretty sure it was a boy, though right?" I responded, "Yeah you were quite sure, you did mention the possibility of the umbilical cord getting twisted and creating the illusion of a boy during the ultrasound."

Sarah pushed hard during
each contraction for about a half hour and our baby was here! Dr. Cazes held up our baby girl and exclaimed "It WAS the umbilical cord!" After the initial surprise, I grinned and whispered to Sarah, "She's a girl!" Seeing that healthy baby girl crying there as they cleaned her off on Sarah's stomach with 10 healthy little fingers and 10 healthy little toes was such a huge relief.

So baby Faye is with us now and she's so amazing! It's awesome to have this little one bring in her unique little Spirit to brighten our home. Sarah and I felt like a family before, but we feel even more complete now. I'm waiting for the moment that this all gets really hard. Everyone keeps assuring us that it will come. But for right now, it's just a simple routine of feeding her, changing her, putting her to bed for 2-3 hours and doing it all over again. Parenting is a Breeze! ;)
